WHY ONE-ON-ONE MATTERS
Private one-to-one German lessons are aimed at those who wish to make the most improvement in the least amount of time. Why are one-on-one lessons so different?
You only learn a language by practicing and speaking it. While you can read German at home, speaking is a different story. And here one-on-one lessons make a huge difference: If you spend 60 minutes in a classroom - even with only 5 students - the time you have a conversation using German is about 5 minutes maximum.

No matter if you are a fast or a slow learner. If you take private German lessons with a conversational approach you will have a new learning experience. You will reach the same results in a fraction of the time.
To get the same results in a classroom you would have to spend way more time and also more money. One of the biggest difference to class room lessons: Private German lessons enable you to actually use the things you learn. Even German grammar will actually help you to speak and to become more confident.

PER WEEK IS SUFFICIENT
A good tutoring session will involve you in a face-to-face conversation at least 80 to 90 percent of the time. This means that you will not only get double or triple, but 10 times as much time to practice German.

Compare to a class room: You would have to spend 10 hours in a classroom to achieve the same learning pace as in a 60-minute individual lesson. This is one of the main advantages of individual tuition when it comes to learning a foreign language.

In every tutoring lessons, you will actually be speaking in German the whole time. Even at an A1 level, I will have you speaking German sentences from the first lesson. To achieve the same amount of speaking time you get in a 45-minute session with me, you would need to spend the whole week in a language school.

Even this doesn't sound very impressive in my experience this is actually one of the biggest advantages of private one-on-one lessons. German lessons in a classroom are often too fast or too slow. The teacher may try to match the pace of his teaching to the average learning pace of his students. But problem is: the average usually does not fit most students.
So if the class is too fast or too slow you will simply wast your time and money. Following your personal learning pace instead is one of the key factors to your learning success. Besides, you will never miss a lesson because it is too boring or too difficult. If you miss a lesson, start exactly where you left off last time.

TALK TO A NATIVE NOT A STUDENT
In a classroom the biggest problem of students is not having the opportunity to talk to a native speaker. Don't wast your time by talking to the other student across the table. This means you will copy and reproduce all the mistakes your fellow students make.
In a private German lesson with me, you will instead interact with a native German speaker 100 per cent of the time. I will correct your German as you speak and I will give you little hints so that you learn to correct yourself.

GRAMMAR EXPLAINED IN GERMAN?
Bad idea! German language schools tend to teach German grammar only in German. They claim that this immersive approach is in the students' interest. Anyone who has taken an A1 or A2 course knows that this isn't working at all.
Grammar can help you to understand and use more difficult parts of a language. If you don't understand it easily, it becomes nothing but a burden. By using bilingual teaching materials, I make sure you understand any grammatical obstacle in no time. All you need is a very basic knowledge of English.
