THE TEACHER
The demand for online German tuition has grown rapidly in the last ten years. High quality German lessons and experienced native tutors are still difficult to find. I am a German native speaker and started my German language service with the aim to provide a fast access to individuell but structured and professional German lessons. I have developed lesson plans and bilingual teaching material focused on the fundamentals of learning, spea-king and German grammar.
THE LESSONS
Most of the time I am working with my own bilingual text-materials, a few selected textbooks and official practice materials. My German lessons are tailored to the learning goals of my students and are based on their progress. I offer German lessons that combine conversational German, listening exercises, reading and writing tasks with balanced grammar training so that my students learn German quickly.
METHODS
I was always dissatisfied with standard German textbooks. Therefore I not only developed my own bilingual exercises but also a curriculum wich is better tailored to your needs to become a fluent speaker. The grammar I teach is more suitable to engage students in a conversation form the very beginning.

WHY IS IT SO CHEAP?
Very simpel: With one lesson per week you cover more speaking time than sitting in a classroom 5 times per week. Group lessons are cheaper per hour but at comes with a hefty hidden price tag: Because as you don't learn that much in a class you need to compensate the inefficiency by attending classes several times per week.
WORKLOAD
WHAT DO I GET?
Each lesson comes with up to four text exercises and 4 audio exercises. It takes up around 1.5 hours to finish one of the four exercises (including audio).
With one 60 min lesson per week you will study 5 to 6 hours per week in total. This is all you need for a fast learning progress.

BILINGUAL EXERCISES
Have you ever sat in a classroom, read a textbook and fretted about the exercise? Many students become frustrated because they simply do not understand the text of these exercises. But that doesn't just have something to do with the foreign language: Because even native speakers often struggle to understand what these puzzles and close texts actually intend to do. The other problem is of course the elephant in the room: Did you ever get tired of looking up German words in a dictionary?
With these bilingual German exercises, you learn colloquial German quick and easy and you stay motivated and focused. On top of this: Each exercise comes with an audio exercises. So, you learn how to read and you improve your comprehension and writing skills in an instant.
TEXT BOOKS
BETTER MATERIALS
There are several reasons why German text books provided at a school don't work for men students. Here are some of the general problems with textbooks:
Firstly, the teaching materials are primarily designed not for the students but for the teacher. They are designed to support the teacher's teaching methods. What they do not support is the students' learning experience. Secondly, even at A1 level, schools mostly use monolingual text materials. However, they do not do this because it results in better learning outcomes. They do so because the German teachers were not used to teaching in English (mixed classes). Thirdly, these exercises do not train the active use of the language, but only test the students' existing skills.

REACH A1 IN 3-4 MONTH
This is the right level if you start form the scratch. Get a confident German A1 level with one lesson per week for around 700,- Euros. At a school you will spend at least three times as much to reach the same level. On top of this you only need to spend only a fraction of the time to reach the same level. MEDIUM LEVEL A2
LEARN HOW TO SPEAK
A2 is the level you should at least try to reach before becoming a sufficient self learner. This package gives you all you need to hit the streets and start learning by using the language for your self. To go from zero to the end of A2 you should estimate about 6 to 8 month of you take on lesson per week and do at least 3-4 text- and audio exercises per lesson.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?
4 reasons why you should consider taking private lessons: First, you don't speak German in a class room. You only listen or even sleep. Second, you will talk in English to your class mates for the most time. Third, even if you speak German you will mostly speak to other class mates. That means, you will listen to "wrong" German with a bad pronunciation. Forth, you will work with German text books. In my lessons you can study with bilingual exercises. This will save you a lot of time and energy.
COURSE LEVELS
WHAT IS THIS FOR?
The course level defines your current German skills. There are 6 basic course levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. If we put it very simple: A1 is for beginners, and A2 is for students with very basic but still limited knowledge. B1 is for students with a fair or good knowledge. If you are on B2 you already can consider yourself having a very good knowledge of German. On C1 you are already a very confident speaker close to a native speaker, while on C2 - the highest level - you can communicate, write, and read on an academic level.
THE RIGHT LEVEL
HOW CAN I FIND OUT?
Don't worry! I will check at our first lesson what level you are in and where we should start. Basically, you can teach most grammar parts on almost every level. But there are certain rudimentary skills which are more suitable for a beginner level than others. If you are on a B2 level you have finished most of the grammar and can focus mainly on vocabulary, writing, and on your conversational skills.
INTENSITY
HOW MANY LESSONS?
I strongly recommend to start with one German lesson per week. Keep in mind that each lesson comes with two additional text and audio exercises. To finish one exercises (including the audio) takes about 1 1/2 hours. If you do one exercises per day you need two evenings to finish your homework. Including the actual lesson, this way you will study German three days per week already. For most people this is the maximum work load if you have a full time job.
PERFORMANCE
LEARN HOW TO SPEAK
In my lessons you will practice everything you learn. There are no dry grammar lessons. Unless you are asking for for it :) The center of each lesson is an oral language training. At a school you practice and speak German only 1 to 3 minutes per hour max. Here you invest all your time and money in actually having a conversation full time.
SPEED
HOW CAN I LEARN FAST?
The learning speed varies from student to student. The students who learn very fast are usually more talkative, are not afraid of applying their knowledge, and try to speak German in every situation they can. They mostly try to use what they have learned as much as possible and are not afraid of saying something in a wrong way. This might be something to keep in mind to speed up your learning curve.
DURATION
HOW MANY LESSONS?
If you start form the scratch you should consider spending 4-6 month, if you take one lessen per week, to reach a decent level. Finishing A2 would take you about 6-7 month with one lessen per week. B1 can be reached in about 12-14 month/one lesson per week plus homework. If you are eager to reach B2 or C1 you have to consider that you also need to entangle yourself with German on an everyday level. To reach C1 or C2 in a class room would only be possible if you take lots of daily intensive lessons.
WHEN TO STOP
WHICH LEVEL DO I NEED?
Basically, if you don't need to take an exam, you can stop taking lessons after finishing A2. Because this level equips you with the basic grammar and skill set you need to become a successful self-learner. Please notice that with my A2 levels you will be much more fluent and confident in terms of speaking and writing compare to a language school. So if you are on a budged or have simply no time for lessons A2 should be the minimum goal. If you want to know everything about all the grammar you will ever need B1 is the level to shoot for.

A1.1 CONTENT

Finish A1.1 in less than 2 month if you take one lesson per week
CONTENT:
You will learn how to conjugate verbs in German, how to use the proper sentence structure, were to put temporal adverbs (like: today, now, soon), and how to use irregular verbs. You also will learn how to use personal pronouns in Nominative and Accusative, and how to use the standard negation with "nicht" and "kein".
This package will allow you to introduce yourself and to have a very basic conversation in present tense. Compare to a course at a language school you will only learn the grammar really necessary to communicate and get started.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
This course level is suitable for students who have never studied German or who have very little knowledge. Don't worry if you don't know which level you have to choose. I will check your level at our first lesson.
WHAT DO I LEARN?
In my lessons, you will speak German from the very first time we meet. 90 percent of the time is used for an oral language training. The difference to a language school is that you interact with a native speaker in German full time. So you will not only learn the grammar but you will also develop the capability to use it. In A1.1 you will learn how to ask and answer questions and to hold a basic conversation in present and future tense. You will also build up the basic vocabulary and the confidence necessary to start and hold a conversation.
